Storm Door Torn Off — New One Installed Stronger

After a heavy storm, a homeowner in Rolling Meadows was left with a storm door that had been torn right off — wind caught it, wrenched the hinges, and damaged the frame mounting.

The Problem

The old storm door had pulled away at the hinge side, bending the mounting and leaving the doorway exposed. The original install simply wasn't anchored well enough to handle a strong gust.

The Work

• Removed the damaged storm door and cleaned up the bent mounting
• Installed a new storm door, squared and properly aligned
• Reinforced the hinge-side mounting for far stronger wind resistance
• Adjusted the closer and latch so it seals tight and opens smoothly
